Yuengling
Center
Yuengling Center opened as the USF Sun Dome on November 29, 1980 — with Alice Cooper as its first event.
Since opening, the facility has served as a community gathering place for the best in concerts, sports and events. The 55,000 square foot multipurpose facility, which includes a 10,500 seat arena, has seen about $35.6 million worth of renovations to improve the facility over the last five years, including a permanent, steel-frame structured roof, complete renovation of back of house spaces, an all new sound system and numerous other interior upgrades and improvements.
VSG Facilities, a division of Vinik Sports Group, took over management of the facility in July of 2017, and brought D.G. Yuengling and Sons on as entitlement partner in June of 2018. Primary tenants of the Yuengling Center include The University of South Florida Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams, and the USF Volleyball team.
